The band has worked very hard all week, and I appreciate their sweaty efforts during band camp. We have a pregame routine, and we have a half-time entrance on the field. Next week school starts! Rehearsals will be in the evenings/afternoons.
For the sake of accuracy, please view this schedule as it includes two performances the marching band is doing that were NOT included on previous versions. These performances have not been added, but they were not included on the original by mistake.
First of all, I want to congratulate the band on a great rehearsal today. We had some great learning moments, sound moments, and marching moments throughout the later half of rehearsal. I thank you for working hard and ask that you bring that energy and focus to rehearsals in the future. EMFs have been uploaded to the downloads section, so please check that out if you have not already. Tonight is uniform fitting from 4-7, Please be there.
Now, there has been a schedule change, which I have updated and added to this site. I was recently informed that the Chicken BBQ prior to meet the team will not be provided at no cost. I encourage you to support the Mothers of Athletes in Strasburg and attend the Chicken BBQ at 5:30. The cost will be $10 for some yummy chicken grub. However, we will not be attending as a band, so report time will be 6:20 in the band room on Friday (see schedule attached).
Additionally, I seriously look forward to our Band Boosters Movie Night at the Lynn Auto Theatre. No one is required to attend this event, but it is a sweet deal and a lot of fun. Students are free to attend with their marching band t-shirt, and family guests of band members are $3.
Looking ahead to next week, DCI Massillon will be a 5:20 report time in the band room with your summer uniform on. We will depart at 5:30, arrive at Paul Brown Tiger Stadium, and take a group picture before heading inside to see some of the greatest marching band performances in the United States.

Greetings Tiger Band Enthusiasts!
I am the new director, Dan Bolen, and I look forward to an exciting season as school starts. As a friendly reminder, we will have practice next week Mon-Fri 8-12 beginning in the band room. If you are thinking about doing band this year or know someone who can, be there on Monday. Please get a copy of the uniform letter, handbook, emergency medical forms, and schedule by the band room door. The emergency medical forms are due ASAP. Aim to have them turned in by August 2nd no later than our uniform fitting. I will accept those as they arrive, but we need them to attend the DCI Massillon Show on August 8. Please sign up by the band room door (*wink wink* *nudge nudge*). Also please return your handbook agreement form by the start of school. I will be keeping track of whose I have. Those who do not turn the handbook forms in by Friday August 12 will be running a lap after each rehearsal until I have it.
Additionally, if anyone missed the Meet the Band Director night on Wednesday this week, I will be uploading my minutes from that for any information you might have missed in the "Forms and Downloads." My goal this year is to be as transparent and informative as possible. Communication is key. Feel free to check the "Forms and Downloads" section to download announcements and information as I post it each week. There are also Request to Be Absent forms in the downloads section and in the band room. These are there for accountability this year. The handbook explains them, and if your student will not be at a rehearsal or performance, this is how you should let me know that he or she will be excused.
Remember: Check that your marching shoes still fit; bring water, pencil, sunscreen, and flip folders with music to practice.
